Vida is a global supplier of quality manufactured timber products from sustainable Swedish forests. Production is focused on structural timber for a range of global markets. Eighty percent of our construction timber is exported to Europe, USA, Australia, Africa and Asia. These products are managed through our sales company, Vida Wood, which has sales offices across the world. One of these sales offices is Vida Wood UK Ltd.
The Vida Wood UK office in Billericay, Essex is strategically positioned close to its main terminal operations. Our previous Chatham port and treatment operation has now closed. We currently use treatment and port operations at Creeksea in Essex, Rochester in Kent and Methil in Scotland. These sites support our fast and efficient service, including preservative treatment of timber where required.
The UK office specialises in the sales and distribution of sustainable construction-grade products such as CLS and TR26 to nationwide customers in the UK, including timber frame house manufacturers, roof‑trussed rafter manufacturers and timber merchants.
Vida is a major supplier of TR26 (timber for making roof‑trussed rafters and metal web joists) and CLS used in timber frame house manufacturing in the UK. We also sell roofing battens.

Ian Drane, Managing Director of Vida Wood UK Ltd, has worked for Vida for 25 years and has been on the UK Board since 2002. He became Managing Director in 2022. With 40+ years’ experience selling timber to the timber frame house and roof‑truss manufacturing industries, his main role is selling timber for the group and working on projects associated with the development of Vida Wood UK. Ian now has a team of ten people:
- Will Royle is now our Sales Director, overseeing the sales strategy and supporting the continued growth and development of Vida Wood UK’s presence in the market.
- Emma Sharp is Office Manager. Emma has worked for Vida Wood UK for 22 years, progressing from Admin Assistant to Office Manager/Accounts. She manages stock, prepares monthly accounts, and oversees PEFC and FSC® Control as well as ISO Control.
- Conor Sheehy has worked 3 years as Sales Executive. His job role includes selling TR26 and CLS to customers in the UK.
- Sue Freeman has worked for Vida Wood UK for 12 years as an Accounts Administrator. Her main responsibilities include managing the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, maintaining credit limits and handling claims and payments.
- Jenny Moss has worked for Vida Wood UK for 17 years as a Sales Administrator. Her role includes processing orders, dealing with customer queries and organising events.
- Lisa Hayes has worked for Vida Wood UK for 11 years as a Sales Administrator. She liaises with customers, processes orders, and supports general administration.
- Josh Sharp has worked for Vida Wood UK for 6 years as a Sales Administrator. He handles customer queries, processes orders, and is primarily responsible for arranging haulage and communicating with hauliers.
- Lauren Mesher and Evie Dickel joined in 2025 as Sales Administrators, supporting the team with order processing, customer communication and general administration.
