As the environmental concern grows and more and more becomes a global issue, the demand for certified products increases and so also for our products. The consumer takes for granted that the forestowner takes environmental reponsibility and ensures a sustainable forestry. PEFC and FSC are the most well known systems for certification for timber and wood products. Both of them examined by third part.
The VIDA group has so far focused on PEFC towards our suppliers of raw material. This due to the fact that PEFC has more than any other system adpated to small and middle sizes forestries. For pulp- and paperproduction FSC has been the ruling system. The different systems are in fact two ways of saying the same thing - that a sustainable forestry is important for the environment and our effects on the climatechange.
As the demand for FSC certified products continues to increase VIDA will in early Autumn this year offer its suppliers the possibility to certify themselves according to FSC as well. This implies that we in a better way will be able to answer to the demands of the market and also be able to get a better offset for our products on all markets. Those forestowners who decide to obtain a double certification will from the Autumn on get a bonus of 20 sek per m3. More information will be available in the beginning of the Autumn.
