After 45 years in the sawmill industry, Christer Johansson, Chairman of the board and one of the founders of VIDA will retire.

Christer Johansson started working in 1965, at the age of twenty, at his father Götes sawmill in Vislanda. At that time the sawmill employeed approx. 70 employees and had a turnover of 11 million sek. During Christers years as CEO and during the last ten yeras as Chairman of the Board VIDA has seen a strong development both through organic growth and through acquisitions. Today VIDA has 1100 employees and a turnover of 3.7 billion sek. Christer has during his years at VIDA focused on market issues and among many things contributed to the fact that VIDA was the first company in Europe exporting construction timber to US. For many years Christer was also deeply committed in the Forest Industries in Sweden and the prime mover for the campaign "Wood for Good" for Swedish wood products in Great Britain.

Christer has also been the initiatior of many innovative solutions within the idustry which has given VIDA a clear direction forward. Christer will gradually finish his operative missions within the following months and leave the position as Chairman of the board in the associated companies in the VIDA group in May at the annual board and stockholders meeting. Christer will conitinouously be a member of the board of directors of the VIDA group. In Connection with Christers retiring there will be a change in the ownership of VIDA where Christers shares will be acquired by present shareholders. Santhe Dahl, CEO, will hence be the principal owner.
